The basic(About Us: Who is CityTurtle?)
Hi, your friendly Melaka, Malaysia online travel buddy is known as Ruby. I am blessed to be born in a multicultural and beautiful state in Melaka, Malaysia.
With the marriage of my father (A Chinese from the Lui Zhou clan) and my mother (Peranakan or Strait Born Chinese) I am both a Chinese and Peranakan at the same time!
Where do I live?
Melaka-(lah) friends!
I have always been in love with Melaka, its history, its people, the wide range of tasty foods, the wonderful weather and the friendly atmosphere. Therefore, I am staying put here and developing a site exclusively on Melaka, my hometown!
Why I choose CityTurtle as the website domain name?
Hey, there’s no connection between CityTurtle and Melaka at all… The main reason is that most locals tend to take Melaka attractions for granted as they feel that there’s nothing worth to explore in Melaka.
I guess this happens when you work and live at the same place for too long and you tend to be too busy to notice and appreciate your surrounding!
I hope that people will start to pause for a few minutes, admire the beautiful surroundings and “swim“ with the crowd in your city. Try to be as gracefully as a turtle swimming in the wide blue ocean. Only then, you will start to notice the small and maybe BIG interesting thing right before your eyes!
How frequent will I update this website?
I will update this site as frequent as possible with my interesting findings as I “swim“ in Melaka (depends on my findings) or at least on weekly basic. P/s: I only "swim" in Melaka, not in the blue ocean as the photo indicated....
I will keep on exploring Melaka the CityTurtle way and I hope that you too will enjoy exploring this site. I welcome your comments and feedback. I am also welcoming any CityTurtle out there who would like to share with everyone your small or BIG surprise findings in Melaka.
