Lot 3532, Batu 4 1/2, Jalan Bertam Malim,

Cheng, 75250 Melaka.

Business Hours: Open daily 7.00a.m - 12.00 midnight

Comments: This is a typical Malay stall which sell halal food, the difference is that they offer a wide variety of Ikan Bakar (Baked and grill fish). The cooking is relatively good but the average consuption price per head is RM6.00++ per person.

Like: Want to have a quick fix for your hunger for Ikan Bakar during daytime? Ikan Bakar Malim is my choice as they have pre-prapared some of the grilled fish (Ikan Bakar). I just need to "point" to my "Ikan Bakar" and its ready in a jiffy !

Dislike: The price is relatively more expensive than the Ikan Bakar Alai and Ikan Bakar Umbai. Sometimes, the fish might not be as fresh compared to other Ikan Bakar places.

Lot 85, Jalan Hang Li Po, Durian Daun, Melaka.

Comments:This is on of the famous places to eat Nasi Beriani in Melaka. You could select your favourite Nasi Beriani dish and gravy from a wide selection of choice.

Like: The Nasi Beriani comes piping hot.

Dislike: Sometimes, it will be difficult to find for a place during lunchtime due to the big crowd.

Restoran Gelombang Biru "Yong Tau Foo"

No 33, Jaln BP 10, Taman Bertam Perdana, 75250 Melaka.

Business Hours: Open daily 6.00p.m - 12.00 midnight. (except Monday)

Comments: Yong Tau Foo! This is a Malay style (aka halal food) Yong Tau Foo as the soup is full of herbs and spices; totally diffirent from the light scented taste of the Chinese Yong Tau Foo. You could choose individual serving or shared serving (one big pot) which would be placed in the middle of the table.

Like: The taste of the Yong Tau Foo soup is delicious and tasty.

Dislike: They should increase the number of Yong Tau Foo choice. Aside from that, a clearer instruction on how to order would be much appreciated by first timers.

P/s: You need to pick your Yong Tau Foo, passed it to the person in charged and tell them where you are seated.

Roti John Barkaat

Business Hours: 6.00p.m onwards until 1.00 a.m

Comments: This is the typical or original Roti John, plain long bread grilled with a mixture of (sardin, sliced onion, finelly chpped chillie) gravey. There's no fancy toppings or creams.

Like: The perfect and original taste of the Roti John, finely baked with a "sweet & nice fishy" aroma! It feels better with the cool breeze blowing your face while you enjoy your Roti John with a bowl of Asam Pedas Fish or Tomyam soup.

Dislike: Sometimes, the servis could be slow due to the big crowd ( take away & dine in). Best to pay the bill or ask for the bill when all the food is served as you probabaly might not want to wait..... for your bill.

Ikan Bakar Alai

Business Hours: 5.30p.m untill midnight

Comments: There's a few Ikan Bakar Stalls operator for you to choose from. Freshly picked seafood and prepared; there's a wide variation of seafood for you to choose.

Like: Tasty and affordable seafood at your disposal.

Dislike: Not all the stalls have tents or canopy, therefore; pray hard that it won't rain!

Sawit Corner

Business Hours: Luch

Comments: This is a real Eco-friedly eating outlet and a creative one in the whole of Malacca. I would definately not want to miss this place during the fasting month as they serve a wide variation of food for "Berbuka"!

Likes: A unique eating environment. Food are relatively good, have not found "the something special" yet in this place.

Dislike:None at the moment.

Hoe Kopitiam Tanjung Kling

Business Hours: 7.00 a.m till 4.30p.m

Like: The Mee Goreng Mamak is very superb, just slightly more on the spicy side for me. The toast bread and coffee are worth trying and you might want to try your luck with the Nasi Lemak Bungkus. If the luck is bestowed upon you, you definately will go for the second and third pack of Nasi Lemak. It all depends on the Makcik's mood!

Dislike: Sometimes, some of the patrons will smoke in the shop.

Mee Kari Tanjung

Business Hours: 7.00 a.m untill 11.00 a.m( food finished)

Comments: The stall has been renovated early in the year 2011 to accommodate more customers. This stall is famous for its Mee Kari. However, there's other dishes worth trying like Nasi Lemak and Mihun Soup.

Like: I loves the taste of fried chicken in this stall (you could sample it in the Mee kari and Nasi Lemak). Therefore, I would add a side dish of Fried Chicken whenever I am there for breakfast.

Dislike: I don't like the texture of the rice of the Nasi Lemak as it is soft.

Coconut Shake Klebang Besar

Business Hours: 12.30p.m until 5.00p.m (Friday after 2.00p.m)

Comments: This is a stall by the road side. Famous for its coconut shake, thirsty customers will line up to buy this delicious drink. The coconut shake is prepared by blending the coconut water, flesh and ice-cream. The portions blend very well and taste superb. I have tried to make my own version of the coconut shake, but it tastes.....

Dislike: Long queue and the stall is not shaded very well. Its hot and stuffy when the customers sweat in the heat of the hot afternoon!
