No frills, just clean and FUN hotel

Hangout Jonker Melaka hotel is another addition of strategically located hotels in Melaka, Malaysia. This hotel is located at the corner of the famous Jonker Street in Melaka and major attraction places in Melaka, Malaysia. Unlike Jonker Boutique Hotel which is located facing the main stage, this hotel is located at the other end of the Jonker Walk.

Recently, I had the opportunity to check out this hotel. As you step into this hotel, you will be greeted by the receptionist. Unlike most hotels where you could roam around the lobby area and other area, this hotel has an automated glass door which prevents unauthorized access after the reception area! Lucky for me as I got a guided tour!

This hotel is housed in a four-storey building and surprisingly they have a lift! Not bad for a budget hotel. This lift has extra security measure to prevent hotel guests from wandering off their room floors. Pretty cool! Even the five-star hotels in Melaka do not have these security features.

The rooms at Hangout are not very spacious; as comparison, they are slightly bigger than the budget hotel rooms in Singapore. All the rooms have ensuite bathrooms with water heaters, individual air-conditioning, clothes hangers and flat screen television. What I love most is that the rooms have funky or attractive bright colours! Very nice and suitable with the word FUN.

If you want to have a window view room, book yourself a triple room. The single room starts from RM 100.00 while the twin room and triple room start from RM 140.00 and RM 180.00 respectively.

There are also a token-operated Laundromats and dryers, irons and ironing boards available on the ground floor. They are convenient for backpackers as the charges are much cheaper than the laundry shop.

You could also enjoy complimentary tea & coffee 24 hours daily. A hot water dispenser and microwave oven are available for those who like to have quick instant cup noodles. However, you need to pay for the instant cup noodles. C’mon you can’t expect the hotel to give you free flow instant noodles right?

Attention avid shoppers! You could leave your luggage/baggage for free while you roam for more shopping bargains around the city baggage-free. Isn’t this very convenient? Moreover, you can even leave your luggage/baggage with them for a few days or longer for a small fee.

Lastly, as the Hangout Jonker Melaka Hotel guest, you could enjoy up to 15% discount at selected premises. They are Harper’s Restaurants and Lounge, Raffles Wines Bar and Pure Bar. You just need to show them your hotel key card to enjoy the discount. When you are there, you could always ask the hotel receptionist for up to date list of freebies or offers that you could enjoy.

My conclusion, this hotel is definitely the above average backpackers heaven budget hotel. This strategically located budget hotel is a wise selection if you are looking for a clean room to stay with extra security plus within walking distance in the heart of Melaka City.

This budget hotel is suitable for youngsters, backpackers & the elderly who wish to shop and eat around Melaka City. I would highly recommend Hangout Jonker Melaka Hotel to women or ladies travellers for the extra added security.

P/s: Please book your rooms in advance during Weekend and Public Holidays as all hotels in Melaka are fully book. I won't want you to sleep in your car.....
