You will definitely find Melaka Historic Residential and Commercial Zone under the World Heritage Site an inspired gateway.
As for the architecture lovers or interior designer, you will be captivated by the unique blends of eastern and western of ornamentation, carving and interior design found in the residential and commercial buildings.
A friend of mine, a civil engineer loves to inspect the buildings in the Historical and Commercial Zone for inspirations. According to her, she looks mainly for the structure of the buildings or specifically how the buildings are joined together.
I guess the olden civil engineering skills are useful and could bring inspirations to the new generation. That’s provided if you care to look for the knowledge that’s hidden within the zone.
Below are some of the photographs that I took while exploring the area. As I am not a professional photographer, the angle of the shots and photographs might not be able to justify the beauty of my hometown.
