Let’s try something different in Malacca, Malaysia. Instead of staying in hotels, why don’t you stay at Melaka Homestay or Vacation House?
These so called home-stays could be divided into 2 categories. Urban homestays or vacation homes where you are basically staying in a modern house (double storey house, semi-detach house, bungalow or apartment ) in the city urban area while in village homestay you will be staying either in a village with/without the host or in a typical farm.

Both types of homestays promise different types of experience and enjoyment. At the end of the day, you need to choose one that’s suitable for your needs.
What are the advantages of staying in homestay or Vacation House?
First and foremost you could save a sustainable amount of money on accommodation as they are more likely to be cheaper than hotels (if you are travelling with family or in big group). Secondly, if you stay at village homestay with a host, then you could experience the local culture and customs firsthand! Lastly, you could get the feeling of having a summer vacation home if you opt to stay at the urban homestay. A temporary one in this case!

Nevertheless, this does not mean others Melaka Homestay and Vacation House which are not mentioned are not good, as this page only gives informations about those homestays my friends and I known, stayed before or visited ourselves.
A Quick Note to overseas travelers: Generally all the urban homestays are actually vacation homes. Here in Malaysia, we tend to refer these Vacation Homes as “Homestay”.
