Melaka Satay Celup is another must try or “taste” cuisine in Melaka. This is another version of satay found exclusively in Melaka and therefore deemed as one of Melaka famous food.

Let me share with you my personal list of tasty Melaka Satay Celup Directory in my beloved hometown, Melaka.

This delicious and famous cuisine is your own C.I.Y (Cook it yourself) satay. Unlike satay, satay celup offers a wide range of variety (prawns, fish meat, fish balls, vegetables, eggs, chicken meat, crab meat and the list goes on and on), all you need to do is to dip the uncooked/raw ingredients of your choice into the boiling sauce located in the center of your table.

If you are totally “foreign” with Satay Celup, let me give you some simple introduction of this dish and how to “experience” it.

Satay Celup means you celup (dip) the satay (the ingredients) into the boiling peanut sauce.

1st Step: You choose your favourite ingredient (satay).

 2nd Step: You dip (celup) it into the sauce.

3rd Step: You take it out and put on your plate first. Be patient. It’s still hot.

4th Step: I think you know what to do. Stuff it into your watering mouth!

1. Ban Lee Siang Satay Celup

Location: Jalan Ong Kee Wee

Comments: This shop is also one of the choices of the Melakan. Generally, this place is less crowded unless there’s a tourist bus stopping by and dropping off hungry passengers!

Price: Various from RM 0.50/stick, RM0.60/stick and RM0.70/stick

Business Hour:
5.30pm – 12.30am
Closed On Tuesday

2. Capitol Satay Celup

Location: 41, Lorong Bukit Cina, Melaka.

Comments: This shop is the most famous among the tourists and there is a long waiting queue. I believe this is due to the strategic location of the shop which is in the middle of Melaka Chinatown. Price is very expensive and no doubt it has more variety.

Normally, we Melakan will not go to this shop because of the long queue and expensive price. This is because we know other places that serve equally delicious and even better Satay Celup!

Price: RM0.80/stick

3. Kingtu Satay Celup

Location: 9, Jalan CU4, Taman Cheng Utama, 75250 Melaka.

Comments: This is one of the Melakan choice of Satay Celup Shop and my personal favourite choice too.

Reasons: Price is not too expensive and most importantly the taste of the spicy peanut source is to my liking and different from the above two. Even, my friend Avril from J.B got hooked up after I introduce her to this shop. Click here to read about Kingtu Satay Celup.
