Antiques and old collected items

Top the list for Melaka Shopping Fun will be Jonker Street. It is the place that you should head to for antiques and old collected items. Take your time to shop and bargain for antiques, old items or ‘treasure junk‘ in the shops located along the road. You must really be on your sharp eyes and “nose“ among the disarray piles of stuff to spot your prized possession! You might even want to head to Heeren Street, Jalan Hang Jebat and Lorong Hang Jebat for more antiques treasure hunt. Happy Hunting….

Nyonya Kebaya & Kasut Manek-manek (beaded shoes)

This is the traditional and customary attire among the Nyonyas. Traditionally the baju kebaya will be worn together with a matching sarong and kasut manek-manek to complete the attire. Nowadays, you can wear Baju Kebaya with long pants or jeans and fitting mini skirt to give this traditional attire a sexy modern touch. It’s best to have a custom made Kebaya as it offers comfort and enhance the beauty of the wearer.

If you want to do some last minute shopping, just head towards Jaya Jusco or Melaka Mall at Ayer Keroh. For those that would like to purchase attire for work, maybe you should visit Madam King; located at Jalan Bunga Raya. It is one of the famous old timer shopping complexes during the heyday. Jonker Street

Jonker Street is also known as Jonker Walk among Malaccans. It is a pedestrian walkway that becomes a lively marketplace every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. It is located in Melaka town.
