Tampin Railway Station is located at Tampin which is both a town and district in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Negeri Sembilan is a neighbouring state of Melaka.

The interesting fact about this town, Tampin is that part of this town spills over to the State of Melaka as it is located along the Melaka-Negeri Sembilan border. The exact location of Tampin Railway Station is in Pulau Sebang, which is at the Melaka side.

This Tampin Railway Station is also known as Pulau Sebang Railway Station. Since Melaka town does not have a railway station, Melakan will have to go to Pulau Sebang Railway Station to board a train. Before World War II, there was a track from Pulau Sebang to Melaka Town. However, it was dismantled by the Japanese during the war and was used for the construction of the infamous Burmese Death Railway.

There is another small railway station or stop in Batang Melaka, Jasin. However, it will be very difficult for you to get a transfer to Melaka as it is located relatively further inland. Furthermore, Batang Melaka is a smaller town as compared to Tampin.

How to get to and fro from Melaka?

You have the option to board the “Tai Lye“ bus or taxi. The “Tai Lye” bus will head directly to Melaka Sentral, Melaka one stop transportation hub. From there, you could get your transport (either bus or taxi) to your hotel. The Pulau Sebang Bus Station is around 2km from the railway station.

If you choose to board a taxi from Pulau Sebang Railway Station, do make sure that you ask for the fees before boarding it.

P/s: Due to the slightly inland location of this Pulau Sebang Railway Station from the main road, it would be best for you to arrive here during daytime.
